It's not Japan's national flower, yet it represents Japan. My gf and I are lucky enough to be there when it bloomed fully.

alamak...u know what??? I just saw white flowers falling from a fully blossomed tree...its not sakura but, the papery petals about the same...maybe same family?
Maybe? But I thought sakura only blossom in spring and it lasts for 1 week plus. The tour guide says there are 200+ types of sakura.
